#68 is riviera blue, which is closer to gulf blue that maritime. maritime has a slight purple tint to it. here are a couple more in riviera.

I can't tell if this is Maritime or Riviera, but just thought I would add this pic for a little bit of levity:

Its odd I love these soft blues (Riviera, Maritime, Gulf, Leguna) on the soft lines of the 968 and 993, but on the 944 I find the color out of place.

But that is an intresting 944 you've found tifo, everytime I see one of those hatch replacements I think about two things.
1) Its Fugly
2) The blind spot must be quite daunting looking back over your shoulder.....

It reminds me of the back of the old Subaru Brat.

The hatch, wing, and the wheels need to be dropped off at the nearest nuclear weapons test facility.

Here is a picture of my father's Iris Blue 968. It is actually a little more purple than the picture Alex posted.

I'd pick a more dramatic color for a track car - like one of the bright blues, yellow, oranges . . . but that's just me

here is a link to another pic someone took at Hershey this year

Ian,

Maritime blue was available for the 968 in '92. Riviera ("smurf") Blue on that #68 car, was available in '94 & '95.

My 968 light weight track car (currently metallic black) will get new paint this winter - probably Riviera Blue (even though it's a '93)!

Cobalt blue (also available in "94 & "95) is darker, but an outstanding look for a 968 street car.

Good luck.

Richard

[QUOTE=ian]True, porsche has some great blues, but the abscence of great silvers in the 944 series of cars is also amazing to me. Porsche has had so many great silvers, Artic, GT, Polar, etc, but with the 944 we have a gold silver, a pink silver, and just an off silver silver......
