Ok so i called the guy who was talking to the customer wasnt in so i have to wait until monday to call him after work, also tuesday will be the earliest i can take some pictures of the car. I will try to find out more about it like mileage, options and service history and see what you guys think if its worth it. I would try to get pictures monday, but i go from one job straight to another and then to school some days

Thats not Horizon Blue pictured... I have a horizon blue 968 cab and its a good bit lighter than the one pictured (i'd post a pic but I'm being lazy right now...).

I doubt the ring and pinion problem would affect just 2nd gear, so I am guesisng the problem lies elsewhere. Be sure to find out about the status of the ring and pinion, as thats a quick $3500 down the drain. Also, be sure you check the condition of the cam gears/variocam tensioner as a part of a PPI, as that is VERY critical and we've been seeing afew more failures on them lately. It can cost upwards of $5000 to repair this if it fails on you (new cams, new variocam tensioner and new head, plus labor... I haven't experience the thrill of breaking one but I can guess it hurts...)

968's kick some serious a$$... great cars, but knowing what you are getting into can make it a LOT more enjoyable!

Regards,

Ok so the guy wasnt there again today but he should be there tomorrow, but i drove by to take another quick look at it. It seems in my rush before to post more about it i am again wrong on the color. From some research of the suggestions that were posted about what color it may be it is actually wimbledon green. So hopefully i can speak with the guy at the dealer and find out what he is asking for it, and by the way it is a low mileage car is what i was told.

yup thats the color. I am having such bad luck lately the guy who is selling it is out of town and i cant find out a price until he gets back. Along with all the other stuff goin wrong like getting shocked at my one job and going to the other and getting a nail in the foot, i hope my luck gets better when the guy gets back and he wants an outragiously low price

i am not sure it was dirty but thats what the one salesperson at the dealer sounded like he was saying, he told me it wouldnt engage in just 2nd gear but all the others are fine.

If it "crunches" when it goes into second, its likely a bad synchro, and you need to find out why. 968 trannys don't have that problem as a general rule, so its a bad sign. Cool color, tho and if the price is right, what the heck...

By the way, you never mentioned whether its a coupe or a cab, did you?
