Default Clutch Question

I've just changed from the original rubber donut clutch to the Sachs clutch. I noticed a slight metal grinding rattle on the new clutch. This happens only when I let off the gas. Is the metal spring clutch supposed to sound like this?

Any ideas on what could be cuasing the slight rattle?

Did you install the shims in the throw out bearing before putting it on the pressure plate? That rattling sound could be that bearing bouncing around on the spring leaf. Make sure that is not it because if it is, it will be a matter of time before the fingers of the pressure plate wear so thin that they break off. Lets hope its the heat shields for the exhaust or you may have to take everything apart again.

there is a lot of noise from the transmissions in these cars, that's why Porsche used the rubber disk in the first place, it's not unusual for there to be a lot more noise with a spring hub disk. To eliminate the throwout bearing as the cause of your noise, apply very slight pressure to the clutch pedal while the noise is happening, see if it makes any difference.
