You all will not be disapointed with the shift. Its what the car should have came from factory.

Last chance to get in on this group buy. The buy ends at midnight tonight, it will NOT be repeated again.

To those waiting for shipping/tracking numbers, be patient, sometimes it takes a while for paypal checks to clear, and they will not send out the kits without money in hand (makes sense to me). If you have paypaled and haven't heard anything for 3 days or more, please PM me and I'll see what I can do.

Dal.

let me start by saying W O W !!

the difference is truly amazing. going from neutral to 1st feels like the shifter moves an 1" . shifting throught the gears is everything you imagine a short shift kit should do. I am very satisfied - and as others have said - this is how the car should have come from the factory.

It took me about an hour from set-up to clean up. I rolled the rear up on Rhino ramps rather than jack it up and had more than enough room to work.
Access to all 3 bolts is pretty good - some fussing to find the right wrenches or ratchets, but since i've done it - you surely can too.

Lessons learned:
1. my car had no safety wire on the bolt between the shift rod and short shift rod (the one under the rubber boot). When i put the bolt back i used both locktite and safety wire.
2. when i first looked at the beveled hole in the short shift rod i didn't think it was deep enough. When i pulled the stock linkage out - the hole was bored deeper. I lightly reemed the hole on the short shift rod so the bolt (the one under the boot) would set into the new rod the same depth as on the stock rod.
again, locktite and wire.
3. re-use you old boot on the new shift kit, put it on before you attach the new kit. (for those of you who follow instructions - it does not mention this in the instructions.
4. i got absolutely filthy reaching aound the cv boots and over top of the tranny - and my car is pretty clean underneath.

100% bolt-on, plug and play

This is quite possibly the best 85 bucks you can spend on a 944, except maybe for gas.

How do you use safety wire? I thought to do something like that you have to drill a hole through the bolt. Is blue locktite good enough?
