Default Child seat for 944

Does anyone here know of a brand and model of child seat that will fit in a 944?
My daily driver is down for repairs and I need to find something tonight that will work so I can pick up my daughter tomorrow. She's 4 yrs. old and around 30 pounds, BTW.

Sorry, Pete. I don't know what kind of childseat fits into the back of a 944. Heck, I can't even fit my _dog_ back there. When I told this to a 951 driver (who knows WHO he is! ), he asked, "What kind of dog do you have?" When I told him the breed, he laughed and said, "I squish a Great Dane into the back of my car."

Dang! Out HORSE- and DOG-powered!

Crawling away, defeated.

I though the back seat was designed as a child seat.

I have a ~3-4 yr old Century combination forward-facing child seat/booster seat (i.e. the 5-point harness can be removed when the child is >45 pounds and the regular seat belt can be used). I believe it is a "Next Step" model. A pic is here (you probably remember it 944Pete):

https://rennlist.com/forums/924-931-944-951-968-forum/148307-a-belated-guten-tag-from-a-noob-pics-too.html

I have not tried the latest Next Step models (although from their pics online they look to be very similar to mine) and I have not seen other booster seats that are narrow enough to fit in the back seat of the 944.

I was going to suggest you just put her in her car seat in the front seat. The problem is if she is only 30 pounds then she is too small to graduate to the regular seat belt which means you would have to use the tether strap which won't work in the front . Are you certain she is that light? My daughter weighed 40 lbs when she was 4 and she is none too big (like her dad ). Just make sure that the lap belt goes across her pelvic bones (not her tummy) and the lap belt (which may need to be clipped in place) goes across her collarbone and sternum (not her neck).

My daughter loves it back there without a booster seat because her feet lie flat on the floor! But it is not safe since the lap belt rides too high on her body. She is 48 lbs so older kids it might be OK.

Thanks Boffam. The problem is finding one of those. It seems the manufacturers change these things every few months and if someone finds one that fits, it won't be available anymore. There's a place here that sells used infant and toddler stuff. I'm going to go there after work and see what they have. If I strike out I'll have to go to WalMart and see if they'll let me test fit the ones they have before I buy.

I'm just glad I don't have to deal with this anymore. My baby is 15 and presents a whole 'nother set of problems, like wanting the keys to the 951.

Then they buy their own first car, the stereotypical rustbucket 80s Civic with assorted stains on the cloth, and try to drive it like the 951 they learnt on

I found one at the used place. Actually the thing is brand new, it was never used at all. It fits great and it was only $49.99. It's made by Cosco. I got it all strapped in before I wrote down the model number. If anyone wants it, I'll look when I take it out in a few days. It has a nice tether system so it's mounted in very tight. It even has a cupholder!

Pete. Helping every 944 man's cause.

Every guy with child bearing, rearing and transporting needs has new ammunition for the "Little Woman" as to WHY NOT to get rid of his 944.
