Question SS fuel line install question

What is needed to replace the lines-2 on a 924S? I see the braided lines connect directly to the dampers etc but what is needed to connect at the 2 steel hard lines? TIA Dal

if it's the Pauer Tuning set, nothing except wrenches and a SMALL tubing cutter.
be carefull unscrewing the round white plastic fastener that holds the fuel/brake lines in the holder in the wheelwell. it's old, brittle and will strip out easily - then it wont hold anymore. i'm having a hard time finding a replacement.

I don't think it is a Pauer set.

The Pauerman set goes on in 20 minutes - and it is AWESOME.

If its the rennbay set, and a 924S has an identical stock fuel line setup to a 951, youre going to need a hacksaw, and a loose blade (or remove it from the saw frame), some rags, and a fsck load of patience and/or anger management.

When I did the rennbay install on my car, I had to hacksaw the old fittings to get the hoses off the hardlines. Not fun at all.

Where does one acquire the "Pauerman" setup?

So, am I understanding that you don't have to "cut" the old lines off to install the Pauerman set like you do for every other set?

Sure do, man. $5.00 pipe cutter at NAPA is the only thing you need. You can use it for brake lines too when you take out that ridiculous stock proportioning valve and put in the Tilton.

Thanks. Really just wondering 'cause I've got the SFR's and a cutting tool was used to get the old OEM's off. Pauerman's look to be a better solution.

Does the kit come with the short hose, and how much?

The Pauerman kit uses Voss hard line to AN adaptors that are very cool. The Voss manual does specifically state however:

"Saw off the tube square. Do not use roll cutters, as they will
reduce the tube cross-section and will generate extensive burr."

That said, there really is no other way to get in there and cut the tubing. Just be very careful and do not apply too much pressure on the cutter or you may wind up with leaks.

the basic 2 line pauer tuning kit is about 150 bucks and does not include the short hose from rail to damper, but, Vic will make one up for you for an additional cost. When i did mine i ordered a new short hose from Porsche, about 50 bucks. i'm not sure about the other kits - Pauer kit moves the hard line connection out of the engine bay and into the fender well.

i made them just above the bracket in the fender well.
stagger the cuts on either line (3/4" - 1") so the connection fittings can nest (overlap) side-by-side.
otherwise they will not set back into the bracket without persuasion.
look on Pauer Tuning site for pics - test fit the new lines, connect the lines at damper and reg.
and see how far they extend down into the well.
