I occasionally think of getting a bimmer to replace the 944, but I'd want the spiritual equivalent: the 318ti, maybe bored out a bit. Front-engine, rear drive, hatchback, 4-cylinde, cheap and under-appreciated...

epbrown01, you might want to look for a 323is. Handles well, but not too fast.
