Dual tips, or mufflers, or what?

There isnt much room back there for more than dual tips, and those are useless more or less. On the passenger side youve got the gas tank, and for some 951s the transaxle cooling loop.

Just go with a nice big 3" exhaust.

I've heard you actually lose power by putting dualies on 4cyls.. is that true? thought it was something with flow, or backpressure, or something.

Someone put double exhaust tips on his wifes custom silver rose 944...i think it looked tacky. Stick with a big single pipe.

i think duals would look hot if it was done right.. but the car was clearly designed for one pipe, especially if you've got a turbo rear valance. it seems like there's better projects to kill time on.

I'm out in Lake Zurich, about 30-45min away, PM me if you ever wanna get together or go on a cruise with the local owners man.

If you open up the exhaust to much on any engine you are subject to loose low end torque. Of Course if you drive a 944S you don't have much anyway.

Hey rock... Make sure you check out your manifold nuts. If you are hearing a tick tick tick exhaust sound, it is somewhere either right at the head, or a crack in the manifold. Mine was loose manifold nuts, which, if they are loose theyw ill do what mine did... the exhaust will vibrate against the head until it shears the studs off right at the head. Then you will have to wait a week because even the dealer doesnt have the studs on hand... and then you have to pull your whole exhaust. have fun. Ask me how I know....

Wow! That looks nicely done. I wonder what all was modified to get that right side pipe/muffler to fit. Tranny cooler, gas tank and spare tire well all in the way.

Shame on you for putting ideas in my head !

That's an interesting picture that i have not seen before. I'm sure it can be done with out modifying all that much. But whats the point exactly?

has anyone seen a centered exhaust ona 944? like the boxster. probably would have to cut out the spare tire "bump".
