Default swapping top rear seat material

The material on the top of my rear seat is in bad condition. I can get a rear seat from a car from like early '85. The seat from that car mounts different. Would it be easier to swap the material between backs or change the mounting pieces? They are both 1 piece backs

what color is your seat? I have a brand new OEM rear top in BLACK with the closed loop black carpeting (early cars) - I bought it just to get the factory roller shade. PM if you are interested - I can get a digital photo to you. It's in perfect new condition, but I had to throw out the factory box - chewed to bits by warehouse vermin!

It's Black, but I think I was trying to figure out something locally so that I wouldn't have to pay lots of shipping charges. Thanks though. Has anyone tried swapping the material?
