I think I was pulling off 250 miles to the tank on my recent roadtrip... Then again some of the hills were kilometers long and very steep, and I was driving her like shes meant to be driven 
She did QUITE well on the return trip, it was almost ALL downhill and no traffic.
Then there was that race with the 911 Turbo, that didnt help the mileage either...

I get great mileage with my 87 n/a. About 800 km to a tank with a combo of highway and city driving. I could probably get around 1000 km (all highway) if I stuck with the speed limit.
