I decided id save myself time and money (not buying a low profile jack) by buying ramps to do all the basic stuff. First time I used them, wasnt too bad. Tonight im putting my new rad in, so I line the ramps up carefully, slowly creep up them...

Feel the tires roll into the drepression...

Then feel a clunk and my car drop a few inches as it rolled...

OFF THE END OF THE STUPID WORTHLESS FUC*ING RAMPS. THOSE WORTHLESS THINGS ARE LUCKY GARBAGE DAY WAS YESTERDAY AND THAT I STILL HAVE THE BOX AND RECEIPT FUC*ING HELL.

So... Moral is, dont use ramps. Sweat it out jacking the car up using the scissor jack, or cough it up and buy a good jack.

This rad install better go smoother than a babies *** or im going to be

Buy a good jack, jack up the car, and slide the ramp under the wheel.

Ouch - Hope it didn't do any body damage! When i use the ramps if i'm alone i use the jack to place them under the car then start to work.

Thats the way I always did it. The front was always too low to get on it otherwise. Now, when I would lift the rear, I would just have someone guiding me up so I wouldn't go too far.

Seriously, if you're going to do any kind of work on your car buy a good quality jack, 4 heavy duty jackstands, and ramps. Don't cheap out on this stuff.
You can't fix the car when it's lying on your chest.

I have a set of the older metal ramps and the depression is impossible to miss....the car actually jumps down in the depression.....no guess work....however I did bolt on 2 pieces of 2"x8"x3' boards to allow for the low profile of the valence.....they work fine....I am still very very cautious and slow when using them.....once there I also use jack stands...

I made my own ramps. they are really shallow and long, and heavy. A bit too narrow tho.

What brand ramps are you using? I have a set of the grey RhinoRamps. Ive never had any problem with finding the depression and stopping. Thoguh i would say its a little easier considering i have an automatic. A buddy of mine with a new SE-R was going up the ramp. Gave it a little too much gas and the wheels hit the incline at the very end. The ramps tipped foward a little bit, but not enough to get over the hump. My face was sorta like .

My 924S has no clearance issues. The only car that ive had minor issues with was on my friends Saturn SC2. His car has a slightly lower bumper than mine. I wish oil changes were like on my sisters Jeep. No ramps or jacks needed!

I have Rhino ramps too. They work great for checking the 928's ATF level, among other things. With some driveway slope they make oil changes easy too. They don't replace jacks and stands but are often a good tool for the job.

I always wondered if you could even use ramps at all with these cars due to the low profile (i.e. would the nose hit the ramp?) I guess there are probably some out there that are shallow enough, but they're obviously going to be bigger and take up more space. *sigh*

Guess I have to get that lift. Or just jackhammer me a pit.
