Default removing rear brake rotor for spacers and longer studs

Ok, I have a wright up from Danno that says to remove the parking brake line but I don't see it anywhere. I'm looking for something that I can pound out the old studs and pound in new longer ones for a spacer.

How do I put on rear spacers on a 86 na?

Is there a picture of this hole and parking brake line?

How do I remove the brake rotor if I want to put on a fancy one.

And my rear trailing arms say 951.... Is that normal?

Thanks in advance!

I don't know about most of what you are asking EXCEPT taking off the rear brake rotors. All you need to do is remove the pads and the caliper, then there are two(maybe 3?) little screws holding on the rotor. Grab a rubber hammer if you have to and go to work. That's all i know about your question.

Best of Luck!

Parking brake is located inside the hat of the rear rotor. When you remove the rear rotor you'll see the tiny drum brakes inside! It's designed very smart.

Well also keep in mind the wheel does a squeeze play on the rotor to help hold it in place too. As Chris mentioned you'll see the parking brake shoes on the inside of the rotor when you get it off. Its a good idea to clean that area with some spray brake cleaner while you have it all off....

I figured it out, just have to release the parking brake, and put a bolt into one of the little hols provided and screw the bolt to push off the rotor from the hub.

I was able to get in the new studs without totally dismantling the parking brake cable. I just took the metal cover off of the hole and pushed the cable to the side to fit in the big part of the new stud.

Now I just need an open ended lug nut! I'll get that tomorrow.

944J,
Where did you buy the longer studs from & how much were they? I need to fit some shorter ones to the rear of my car so that I can fit 1" adaptors and not have the studs "hang out" of the adaptors.

Well, I have both 65mm and the stock stud bolts if you want them. They were $5.50 each from GPR parts. The problem is for me now that I accidentally bought 4 21mm spacers and 4 65mm studs instead of 2 for the front and then 28mm spacers and 72mm studs for the back. So I have extra studs and spacers if you need them.

My front studs stick out 32mm from the hubs. I plan on putting 2" adaptors on the front so that shouldn't be a problem as the studs will sit 7mm inside the adaptor. On the rear however I already have a 28mm spacer and the studs hang out 32mm past those. I need to fit 1" adaptors to the rear so I will need to reduce the stud length by about 7-10mm.
I'm not sure how long the rear studs currently fitted are I may have to take one out & measure it.

I see, you are using bolt on spacers...

Maybe danno could help, but in that case just cut them off at the right level... (ask your doctor first)
