doesn't either pelican parts or paragon products have it?
my advice would be to replace the entire tensioner assembly. only $300 vs $3000 for repair of a 16 valve head (ask me how I know). it has both upper and lower tensioner pads

I just pulled it out and the replacement pad is coming from Zims in a few days. Actually the whole assembly, including the pads, looks pretty good. The bottom pad shows almost no sign of wear and I can read the part number off it.

Cams don't come out for the chain tensioner. Very simple job, just a few minutes and even then the greater amount of time is spent taking off the cam cover! I think I paid 250 or so for mine and was worth it for peace of mind.

You're right! The hardest part was getting the cover off.
A cuple of those bolts were really tight. I was careful to be patient in removing them.

Joel, I went to the dealer today and their computer didn't show a pad just the whole assembly for like $325.00
After seeing the condition of the pads & the tensioner assembly in my hands, I'm satisfied in just replacing the top pad. I have too many more important priorities on the car to addresss right now like the water pump, belts, etc...

If you have trouble finding the part for the S, I believe that the 928S4 has the same pads (anybody know if that's true???). I agree with the others here, if you're doing the pads, at least do the chain (and consider doing the tensioner). Make sure you reinstall securely, and check it after 100 and 1000 miles. Good luck!!!
