i think if the car needs rod bearings, change the rod bearings. much much easier than pulling the entire engine. some preventative maintenance is reasonable, but rebuilding the entire engine when it may just need the rod bearings seems excessive. also, the chasis and tranny especially the lds are still worth a fair amount even without a motor. i'm fairly close and would consider your car for a track car.

GD - this is what I get for not checking in religiously like I usually do.

I just didnt trust it to arrive in 1 piece. 5/6 hours is a long way on a dolly. I felt much safer on a twin axle trailer.
I still believe the best method of transport for a Porsche is under it's own power with me behind the wheel !
I was wondering where you have been Matt!!

Well, the car just sold to a guy in NY, and he's coming to pick it up on saturday. He does have -1 feed back, but he contacted me promptly and we worked everything out. Im just glad someone bought it, because my other option was to sell it to Carmax for $800. Now I have to start saving for a 951!!!

Wow, just found this thread. Man that was a long time ago, forgot I even had a screen name on here still. I ended up selling it to Carmax, the guy from NY backed out. On to bigger and better things now, but once you have a Porsche, you never go back.
