Default Early 944 Seats

Our 1983 944 Project car is about to have its new interior installed next week. Before we get started our drivers seat foam is toast, and we have been looking at pickup up a used passenger side seat and moving over the hardware to make it a drivers seat.

Has anyone done this in the past? Can it be done?

I don't think it will work. Your tilt control will be on the inside where you can't get to it. PET shows different part numbers for left and right seats even for the foam plugs to rebuild them. I haven't tried so I might be way off base here. I have had both seats on my 83 apart to redo the foam though by building up the old shape, turned out well.
