Clear coat or no clear coat? (Zaino application)
I tried the search function but nothing turned out.
How do I know if I have a clear coat on my paint? I have a '88 guards red car with it's original paint.
I want to wax it with Zaino, but they have different products if you have clear or no clear...
For those who know about Zaino, do I need the Z2 or Z3?
THanks,

Take a little bit of a car polish/wax product and rub the paint surface. If the cloth shows signs of paint on it you don't have clear coat.
If you don't have residue on the cloth you have a clear coat on the car.
HTH. Zaino all the way.

zehnd I have also seen some paint on cars with an integrated clear coat into the paint which will do that too. The advantage to this is that its easier to buff out swil marks and makes the car appear color sanded if done right. The BIG disadvantage is that the paint doesn't last long on the car and that waxing it actually removes a tiny layer of the paint!
