stuck wire
Well, I had a wire stuck between my head and block and just got it out. The thing is this thing is completely flat and is not fixable. It goes from the same place the battery cable hooks to the block. From there I loose it. It's brown, if anyone has any clue what this is could you please help? Thanks!

brown wires are usually brown..
I just looked at my engine..and the only brown ones I see are grounds...
dont know where it goes though. from dme to bellhousing?
or maybe the battery to bellhousing?

Steph, can you take a pic of it and post it? If not let me know and I'll post it for you.
Too little info- Not your fault, there are a lot of brown cables in there.. (Insulation covers are brown on a 924S.)

I got these from Steph, and I cant really determine what they are, so I'll check them against mine tomorrow unless someone else can make them out-
Pete- dont yell at me for circumventing the system, I'm just trying to help out!!

OK, here are the questions:
1. How was it possible that it was smashed between the head and the block?
2. Is it still connected to something (ie, is there resistance when you tug on it?)?
3. If #2 above is true, why not just splice in some wire of the same guage to repair it and call it a day?
I guess I just don't understand the line of questioning, neither does anyone else. Hence the lack of responses. It's not that we don't want to help............

Well that and the pics are taken too close up, move the camera back a little, it will make them less blurry AND give us a reference point to work with.

Well the answer to #1 is that was my fault. I replaced my HG and when I put on my head I though I had all wires out. But when I started up my car a bunch of coolant kept squirting out. So that’s what happened. Now #2 It has resistance, I thought about splicing it but I just wanted to check here first to make sure it would be cool.

Ah, I see.
Well, I would splice it and be done with it. Otherwise, you could get a penlight and a small mechanics mirror and take your time tracing it. Me thinks it is a ground wire of some sort. Hard to tell from the photos.

Thank you for asking these questions, Tifosiman.
You know, wires can work even when they're flat if the insulation is OK.
I wonder if it did anything to the head or gasket torquing it down with something in there.
At the least I'd get a new gasket if there's a groove in it from the wire..
