Default Won't Start

My car is a 1987 944S. It ran until I removed the cap & rotor, and the plugs. After putting everything back together now it won't start. All plug wires are correct. I used a spare DME relay and still nothing. I jumped the DME relay terminals and it still wouldn't start. I am getting fuel. I found I'm not getting a consistant spark on the #2 plug and I verified the wire is bad. But the car doesn't even try to start. Wouldn't it at least try to fire on 3 cylinders? Any help is appreciated.

I once had my S running on 3 cylinders. Due to a broken wire on one of the injectors that I broke when I removed the fuel rail. The engine did start and ran real rough.

Since the #2 plug is bad i would replace that plug first and see what happens. If that doesn't work try replacing that plug wire then. That should probably fix your problem. Not starting on 3 cylinders happens sometimes as evident by a few friends' experiences with their cars.

Make sure the rotor's tight and aimed in the right direction. There's two bolts that hold the rotor on. One holds the rotor to the little nosepiece, and one holds that to the cam.

Well last night I removed the cap and rotor. Looks like the rotor was in the wrong position. What a jack ***. Thanks guys!
