Question What size wrench needed for oil press. sender?

I need to replace the crush washer on mine.
Anyone know what size wrench I need to track down?

I have mine out now. I also have a 24mm crows foot wrench that's coming today or tomorrow from Snap-on. 24mm Wrench My craftsman open end wrench is too long unless I take out the radiator, plus I want to torque it as I put it back.

I don't know if yours is the same as we have different model years.

Good Luck,

Thanks! I knew it was either 22mm or 24mm. It needs to be a pretty short wrench and thin too.
Our cars are the same as far as the sender goes.

I think have to replace mine- I pretty sure it's the source of the flashing oil light problem.

so the massive leak that I have there may be because the PO did not have the proper tool to torque the bolts down ???

I have a pretty good oil leak and I replaced all the front seals and it didn't help. The oil seems to be coming from the sender area. The oil cooler housing is clean so I don't think that's it. Ditto on the oil cooler hoses.
I was able to tighten the sender down about a half turn by hand and the leak got better. It's still there just not as much. It doesn't look like there is a crush washer on it so I think that's it. I bought a 2 pack of M18 copper crush washers at Pep Boys so if I can get a wrench to tighten it properly it may solve my problem.

I have a 24mm wrench, but it is a standard box/open-end wrench that is about 12" long. Let me know if you need to use it........

While on the suject. Do you guys know the size of the fitting that goes into the block that is by the OPS unit? The oil hose connectes to the fitting and the fitting then goes into the block(kinda behind the oil filter houseing)

Mine has a leak and I can't get the wrench up there to tighten.

Crackhead made me think of getting the crows foot but I have to find out the size....

I'm not sure on that one. I'm thinking 32mm or 36mm but I may be way off. I'll try to find out while I'm working on mine Saturday.

BTW- That's a very nice 951 you have. I saw it at the Fest on Sunday.

I was trying to make a oil filter relocation kit and messed the threads on the filer housing so now I am replacing it......
Do you guys know all the size wrenches I will need for all the hoses and senders?
Should I disconeect the housing first or is it easyer to take everything off first?
thank you

Wow, sorry about that. I had a devil of a time with that sender, I could not find a wrench that would d fit it. Eventually I thought I got it tight. If the crush washer fell off before I got it started I'd be suprised, but that would help explain why it came loose again.

On the second one I did, I cut up a box end wrench to make a narrow open-end, but that did not work well. I should have cut an open end wrench short and removed material to make the head narrower. Maybe a high quality stubby will fit that thing?

No biggie Joel. I'm amazed that you got it on there at all. It was a lot easier on my 85.5 944. No oil lines or heater valve in the way.
If this doesn't stop it I'll have to take Danno's advice and pull the engine!
