Factory Alarm Removal
Hi, Im planing on removing the factory alarm system and I was wondering if there is a write up on it somewhere. I was also wondering what this silver box is under the driver side dash. If its part of the alarm, can I remove it?

That silver box pictured is your Cruise Control Brain, IIRC.
I bleieve the Alarm brain is right with your DME, and to remove it requires jumping a couple of connections on those boxes. Don't rip anything out until someone who has done it before chimes in!
BTW, does your key by the driver's door even work? If so, why remove the alarm anyway? Just curious as mine is completely worthless and I haven't bothered removing it.

Well the reason I want to remove it is because I just got a remote door locks and when the installer told me he saw some factory alarm parts and the thing is I don't have the alarm key hole on the car. I think the PO removed it.

If anyone has pictures of where the central locking unit is under the passenger footwell that would help a lot. I know on the older cars it was strapped to the steering column instead which would have made for easier access. I have been having issues with my alarm wanting to go off randomly for no reason and would like to simply disable it.
From a previous thread Perry informed us that if you have the quarter panel key hole jump pins 1 &4 of the 8 pin connector. If you've got the door lock alarm then jump 4 &6 and 7&8.
