Default Revitalizing a shabby rear rubber spoiler

I did a search and found some similar posts, but none with my same situation...

As you can see in the pic below, my rubber rear spoiler is severely sunbleached. Is there a way to completly revitalize it (paint? Or just some rubber treatment?), or should I just scrap it and go for a new one? Any help is appreciated.

I use this on all my trim bits, the black on the wing mirrors, the spoiler, the bumper pads, the lower 951 trim parts, the tires... I think that about covers it. Awsome stuff.

Get a little sponge applicater for it too, dont spray it right on. The sponge thing makes it a neat, easy and clean job.

That stuff works well and although some will probably want to burn me at the stake for even admitting it, I used wd-40 (yes, really) on some of my parts that were bad looking when I bought the car including the spoiler and bumper pads to allow oil back into them. It worked very well. When done, I used the Mothers stuff - they look great to this day.

It really makes it look a lot better, but like my spoiler, there's cracks and marks in it that are only hidden for a little while with "back to black"

Thanks for the advice guys. I had read about that product in previous posts when I did some searching, but didn't know if it would truly revitalize such a crappy looking piece of rubber. Thanks guys!

You may also try scrubbing a bit with a light abrasive cloth...not sandpaper, but perhaps a scotchbright pad and soapy water. After it dries, try the back to black or another product called Black Magic...GOod Luck!

On my first 944 - an 83 - my mirrors looked every bit as bad as your spoiler. Mother's Back to Black restored them so well that my wife yelled at me for buying a new set of mirrors!

I just bought some tonight..
I too have heard of this stuff. I just hopes that it revitalizes it enough that the cracks come back together.

It was like $5 at NAPA..

Black Again used to be the best, but it looks like they have changed the product. Anyone remember Black Again and know what happened to it?

I too have to attest to the Back to Black product. I washed my Mercedes 300E today, and use it on the front/rear bumper pads, mirrors, etc, etc. The bumper pads were literally turning white. It's amazing how much of a difference one good coating of this stuff did on the bumpers. I'm sure they'll only get better with 1-2 additional applications.

If you haven't tried it yet, do so. It's money well spent.
