Default Need Firing Order Help!

I was in the middle of a simple plugs, wires, cap, rotor change when it
started poring rain...Ran inside the house

In the interim I seem to have lost the order of
the plug wires on the distributor cap.

On '87 924S...

Which Cylinder is #1
and
Whats the firing order starting from top right on the cap?

Thanks!

I dont know if this helps, but on a late 944 the firing order is 1-3-4-2. It goes clockwise from the bottom right i believe.

Methinks the engines are pretty much the same.

Start from the bottom right of the cap and go clock wise. Cylinder 1 is the closest cylinder toward the front of the car.

Number one cylinder is the one in the front of the car. The cylinders are numbered 1-2-3-4 from the front.

Firing order is on the valve cover, IIRC, 1-3-4-2. The rotor turns clockwise looking from the front.

I wish I weren't so lazy...I would have gone to get my manual. Atleast other people know their stuff.

I figured it out....

What happened was I had the first to (new) wires run to the new cap,
taking them off one at a time of course, when it started raining.

While I was inside waiting for the rain to subside, the old cap with the
two old wires rotated 180 so top was down...it didn't look right to me,
but I was like "how could I screw up two wires" and just continued with
the order.

Famous last words me thinks.
