Default back together after paint, but still one question?

I just finished put my 87 back together, when I picked up the car the paint shop manager, said to wait 2 months before washing and waxing? I had never heard of waiting that long, Last car I had painted they said 3-4 weeks. Its been 5 weeks, I would like to drive it, but not before it has a couple coats of wax. Any one know how long you have to wait? It stop smelling like paint a couple of weeks ago.
Let me know.
Here is a couple of photos of it.

If the paint isn't cured by now, it never will be. I say go ahead with it.

WOW! Great color choice. Dependent upon the paint (Lacquer is different) 2 weeks to was should be fine. It can always be stripped off if you need to buff/ polish.

Good GOD! I never thought these cars would look good in green, but WOW! That'd even make a Leprauchaun jealous (or green with envy)

Nice job!

well, im guessing (hoping) that they sprayed it with eurethane or the job will be short lived. Washing the car can be done right away, will not harm the paint, but no harsh chemicals, just soap and water, like usual. YOu can use a hand glaze (3m) to make it shine real nice, it is like a wax but lets the paint breath, but also doesnt last long. This stuff is meant to be used between waxes to fill in little microscratches and makes a good shine, but not a uv protectant. Im a paint guy i know this stuff.....wash it and get a bottle of hand glaze for about a month, then you can wax it, no matter what kind of paint they used.
