Anyone done an IceShark Headlight Kit write up?
I'm getting one of IceShark's headlight kits to install in the 944S2 next week. I don't have too many tools where the car is located, so I'd like to know what to pack.
What tools will I need?
Procedure?
How long did it take you?
Again, car is a 1990 944S2 cabrio.
Your advice is much appreciated.

Luis,
I don't remember the details like hex sizes, but the process is this.
First there is a ground wire that you attach to one of the bolts of the upper balance shaft housing. So you'll need a socket for that (13mm?) and the tools to remove the airbox (long Phillips and a slotted screwdriver and 10mm socket). And there is a longer ss bolt that you replace the left front ground bolt (12mm? socket).
Then you run the positive from the alternator. One end attaches to the alternator positive (13mm?). I guess the '90 has a alternator shield, but I can't help with the removal of that.
Then you route the cable to the left headlight. You have to attach a couple of relays to the fender, so you'll need a drill and a small bit (1/8 or 3/16?). If I recall, the rest is plug, route, and cable tie.
It should take a couple of hours.
Good Luck.

I did the process on my 924S a few weeks ago. Took me about 3 and a half hours working at a very slow pace. I believe the hardest part i had was getting in the voltage regulator which i actually broke. The second hardest i think was getting all the grounds reconnected on the right frame rail. Both took no more than 5 minutes each however. Im not sure how much more you need to disassemble on the S2, but i would imagine it not being too different from the n/a 944s.

3 hours, 4 max - just using common tools - but a piece of stiff wire / fish tape would help when feeding the wire loom behind the front bumper - I just loosened the front mounting bolts for the undertray/batwing and fed it across.
So a search on Rennlist - there are a few write ups including photos. It's a great upgrade and well worth the effort.

Errrr, send me a ticket to Barcelona, introduce me to a cute, nice woman, put me up in your house and point me in the direction of your car. I'll bring the tools needed. Done in half a day. Unless the gal you set me up with is hot and then it might take a few weeks.

Ha ha, Iceshark, thanks for the E-Mail with the info. As for the matchmaking, I'll see what I can do. As my thirties crawl by it gets tough since all the great ones are already taken.

944s2guy, Go to Danno's site at http://www.gururacing.net and click on the Lighting tab.
Danno didn't post the picture with main/high beam on but you can see that here: https://rennlist.com/forums/showthre...ark+headlights
All these pictures were made by Rennlisters that got the headlight package and I had nothing to do with taking them. So they are real, not some doctored up marketing scam.
I've got another 20 packages ready with one minor problem. I'm missing the waterproof relay base which Delphi now says they will ship on July 9th. So shortly after the 9th you can get a FullBoat package if you want.
I've had the order for these darn bases in since the first part of May. It is really frustrating to keep getting pushed off. Anyone down in Solon, Ohio? Maybe you can bring a few big and mean friends along and shake my order out of them.
