Default Are there any stores that carry good break pads for the 951???

I'm trying to do breaks on my car today. I deffinetly want to use something good upfront, but would be willing to go cheap on the rear for now. This is a street car, but I might be doing a DE kind of thing with it next weekend, so I was looking at getting Hawk HPS/HP plus or EBC greenstuff/redstuff.

Which pads do you recomend? Any ideas of stores that would carry those kind of pads? I know I can order them, but I would like to try and get them today or tomorrow if I could. Thanks!

Are there any Porsche performance shops in your area?

OG racing only has Hawk blues and some other brand I had not heard of. I'm having someone at Autothority check on the prices for me. There are a ton more shop in the area( IMA, RedLine, PitStop, RPM, Intersport, Autobaun, ect...) but I don't think any of the shops stock parts. I guess I'll give that a try.

I used to be a huge fan of EBC greens, but it seems they really don't hold up all that well in relatively powerful cars such as the 951... so if you want EBC, get the reds (not that I have any experience with those though)

Go out to OG Racing in Ashburn. www.og-racing.com
They'll have a couple flavors of Performance Friction pads in stock. Any dealer will stock pads, which aren't bad at all. HBL or Heishman are near you

IMA Motorsport will likely have have some at their shop, if you know where they are. Pagids or PFC's 703-849-9590

Yeah, the PFC's were the ones I wasn't familur with. How do they compare with the HAWK and EBC's?

I would rate the PF 97 compound that I use better than Hawk Blues(tried them) and way way better than anything EBC makes(never used, never met anyone that did).

I use PF 97's on the front of my car(stock rears) and after 10 track days they are maybe 10% worn. Just replaced the rears because they were down to the backing plates(2mm left). Both front and rear were new in March.

If you come to a Potomac Region DE, you'll find that most of the 951 guys run either the PF97's or Hawk Blues.

I've heard good reports back on EBC now. In the year or 2 right after their release they weren't great, and then they redid their formula and solved the issues that were reported.

It's spelled "brakes" and "consider."

I believe either Checker or Autozone carries basic Performance Friction Z pads that work well for street and light DE use. Our cars are so few and demand so low though, not many people stock anything for them - be prepared to have to order.
