Hummm... I'm quite fond of the Hofbrauhaus doppelbock. Excellent beer that is. I also enjoy christian moerlien and hudy delight (both local beers).

The marbles in my head got rolling though. Anyone from the eastish side of the country who is coming to the fest, who would be willing to pick me up a case or two of Yuengling? I'll happily reimburse you at the fest. We can't get it around here....

Where can you get Hacker-Pschorr here in the US?
Your finer beer/wine stores sometimes carry it. Something I have noticed to be completely lacking in the southern states. (It's all Miller or Bud - yeach!)

My first Hacker was at a restuarant in Copper Harbor, Michigan. Look it up on a map (as far north as you can go). My navigator treated. What a treat!

Other beers that I enjoy (no clear favorite):
Labbat Blue, Molson Canadian and Golden, Moosehead, Heineken, Dos Equis XX dark, etc.

I freshly pulled pint of Guinness is the end-all be-all of beer IMHO. That is top notch...

BUT, certain beers are my favorite for different occassions:

--hot summer day: a good Hefeweisen
--having a great time with all my old friends: Stroh's... lots of 'em (who'd have thought such a good beer could cost so little?!?!)
--study-time stress relief: Lowenbrau

and Vitamin G has it's occassion too (though it never actually NEEDS one)... NOTHING kicks off any special occassion, whether it be a birthday, a holiday, a 944Fest, or just a Friday... like a Guinness.
here here!
