Default Boxster beats ***

I was driving in my firebird yesterday and there is a tiberon with side skirts and some front bumper body kit thing. We know this kid is gonna be a jackass and the firebird is slow as hell so i dont mess with him. Well we both get to a red light and he pulls up right next to me. When it turns green he floors it and i just drive off slowly telling my friend "I wish i had the Porsche". So this tiberon is flooring it, and it looks like hes going slow as hell doing it cuz his car sucks.

We take a turn and I am behind him. I see a Boxster and point it out to my friend. Well the Boxster and the tiberon get right up next to each other at a red light. My friend and I are like HELL YAH. The Boxster knows this kid is a piece of **** so at green the Tibby floors it and the Boxster just ZOOMS past his ***. I mean ive never seen a Boxster move this way before. I thought Boxsters were crap, but this guy just took the hell off and pulled in front of the Tiberon with awesome handling. The tiberon wasnt very happy which is good because his car sucks anyway.

I just thought id share that.

I like Boxsters. I want to have one some day. I think they really look mean from the rear. When they depreciate to the level that my 944 did when I bought it, I'll get one and drop a 3.6 into it.

The Boxster S is very capable right from the factory. Heck, even the standard boxster will kick my 944's butt.

I think you have to drop the car onto the engine.

We won't have to wait too long for that! Some are already sub $20k.

Stats for a 2004 5-speed Tiburon
Tiburon does 0-60 in 7.2 seconds = Enought to beat a 20 year old 140hp 944. Maybe it's a good thing you were in the firebird.

By the end of the 1/4 mile the 944 has a chance of catching up since the Tiburon takes 15.6 seconds to finish the distance.

The body kit might have added enough weight to slow it down a bit.

At least it wasnt a supercharged Miata.. It would have blown a Boxster away.

Most NEW Boxster peeps are impressed with themselves
There are exceptions, I have seen enthusiasm creep into these Boxster folks lately.
A Boxster is actually becoming an affordable used sports car. I have seen them go as low as 17 grand, I just wonder if that will do anything to the 968 market.

... the most it could have had was 170 hp... more than likely it was the 140 version, as they made that one for 4 years... 170 just came out last year.

so slow... no wonder it looked like the boxster tore him a new *******.

What? You guys are crazy! When I say I could take him, you immediately assume I meant in the 944!

Well as a matter of fact, I meant I physically get my *** out of the car and out run him with my own 2 feet. Duh!
