110 degrees from from torque tube.. ??
Well, I have the rear seats out, so I hear all the transaxle stuff ( kinda gettin used to it ).. But I have been noticing, if I sit in stop and go traffic when it's around 80, that the tranny or drivetrain as whole doesn't respond when I have a clear space to open her up.
Today for example 5 hours on the road COMING HOME.
I then realized that I can just reach into the back and feel the sheet metal where the seats once were to tell how hot it was getting. I could fry an egg on it.
Then, it dawned on me that I have this cool thing my boss bought for me that is a laser temerature gauge. It has a laser (Like a pointer ) and measures the temp at that spot.
Well, today at the hump in the back where the seats would normally be it was anywhere from 105 to 110..
When I finally got home I pointed it under at various objects.
funny to see the exhaust drop in temp 2 degrees a sec. The transaxle itself was around 200 and pretty steady..
Should I be looking at the torque tube bearings or the tube itself.
Money is tight, so I will change the transaxle fluid later in the week and see if that helps.
Anyway, just don't want to have another catastrophy !!!

I take it you have an automatice from the description. Check your fluid levels. Also, the exhaust runs close to where you were taking the temps. I wrapped mine in that area to keep the heat down on the CV joint.
