Default 968 Crankshaft How to Identify?

There are old threads about this but no solid consensus as to how this is done. I’m trying to buy a 968 crank for a 2.8 turbo stroker motor but it is unclear to me how to make sure it is in fact a 968 crank. Has this been settled?

Are you determined to get a 968 crank or will any 3.0L (ie. 944S2) crankshaft work for your project?

I have one of each (a 968 crank and an S2 crank). I'll go get a few pics with part numbers.

Thanks Bill. I want the lighter of the two. Old information states that 968 cranks are 2.5Kg less than S2 cranks but there has been no confirmed consistent info about this. Some swear there is zero difference.

You won't find part #'s, only cast numbers, from what I've learned.
