Default My significant other bought her self a 911...

She has been searching for a while now and finally found a 86 Carrera cab in Prussian blue with 99k on the clock and a stack of maintenance records. She is a bit intimidated about working on it herself but she will get over that.
I told her I was going to buy her a jack and jack stands for her birthday. In this search for a Porsche she has maintained "it's gotta be a mid 80s 911." I will say this though when that flat six fires up It does sound cool and the manual steering is quite fun. I want to get her to a DE ASAP though as oversteer is not something to take lightly. In fact on the test drive the previous owner went around a corner a bit fast and the back end got away from him. I quietly thought "either of my 944s would have SAILED through that turn" but kept my mouth shut.
This will be a true weekend run around with the top down car for her though. Funny thing is she doesn't want to tell her coworkers that she bought a Porsche.

Congrats!
Very cool! She will have a blast with that car, when she gets used to it she's going to tailgate you through those turns.

"I quietly thought "either of my 944s would have SAILED through that turn" but kept my mouth shut."

Trust me... (assuming all is OK with the 911's tires/suspension)... get used to the 911 and you will able to corner, and accelerate out of corners at insane speeds. 911's are formidable cars on the twisties... once you know how to drive them properly.

Yes she is a keeper absolutely. Problem is she lives half way across the damn country, and is about to make Lieutant as a firefighter and the unfortunate thing about being a fire fighter is, if you move, you lose all of your seniority. In fact you have to go through the new cities fire acadamy and start out all over at the bottom. Plus she has a house where she lives.
I am stuck in North Carolina for the next two and a half years waiting for my last contract in the Marine Corps to expire.
As for the ring, got it spent all my combat pay and then some from my second tour in the middle east. If anybody needs a line on a good jewler, let me know. I just got to get out and get to where she lives...
And yes I am saving for jack stands and 911 manuals and brake pads and new cross drilled rotors and... oh yeah she wants a wood steering wheel... Does momo make a wood steering wheel?
