roots of Porsche Design?
I came across the Porshe Design web site http://www.porsche-design.com. This may be a dumb question, but I thought I'd ask anyway. I was wondering about the connection between Porsche AG and this design firm, which seems to be Austrian just like the auto manufacturer, at least in orgin.

The "design" firm was started by son "Butzi" Porsche, who was Ferry Porsche's son and headed the Porsche AG design during the 60's/70's. He was the Chief of that group and responsible for example - the 901 ("911"), 904 and several other models/design improvements...

From the web site...
Porsche Design "Studio" in Zell am See, Austria, was established more than 30 years ago as a "classic" Industrial Design consultancy offering the following services:
- Product Design and Architectural Products
- Graphic Design and Packaging
- Exhibition Design and Commercial Interiors
- Project Management

From: Central Illinois. Cornfields a plenty.
I thought (as in I dont know, only a hunch) the Porsche Design was a distributor that leases the Porsche name and has no affiliation other than a marketing agreement with Porsche AG.
The Porsche Tequipment group markets it's own apparel approved by Porsche AG- at least thats the conclusion I made in the marketing brochures I have for the for the new model lines I picked up at the car dealer.
As I stated, I really dont know- this is just what I had presumed.
EDIT: you learn something new every day.
