Post Single mirror 944

Hi everyone,

I'm looking at an early 944 from 1983, and it has only the driver-side mirror. I was wondering if any of you know if this is something that existed or not. I haven't been able to find any information on this for the 944, but I found some info on the 928 that was offered with only the driver-side mirror up until 1986. Does anyone know if this was also an option on the 944?

Any advice is welcome.

Cheers! :-)

Yes it is. The passenger side mirror is actually optional and 99% of the time it is an included option, like in the US where a lot of features were standard there and optional elsewhere (Airbags, sunroof, foglights, etc). It's pretty rare to see single mirror 944 and I wouldn't be surprised if it was actually a 1982 model year 944. It was more common on older 924. I had a '78 with drivers electric mirror only.

Some of Porsches 944 promotional footage and photos when the 944 was introduced used 944's with only the drivers mirror.

Interesting, my dual mirror early 85 has only one option that I could never decode, L95. Dual mirror, perhaps?

To be fair I wouldn't think so.

I'd agree, they likely became standard before my car was built, but I'm always hopeful that another build code will be decoded.

Is there a list of option codes somewhere?
