Default 84 Na headlight switch issue

Recently replaced headlight switch and since installing new (used) switch I am unable to turn on taillights, fog lights and dash dim. Headlights will only raise up with switch but won’t fold. Any help would be greatly appreciated 🤙

Larger red wire from fuse/relay connector block D pin 3 to pin 30 of the switch is not powering up that part of the switch, or switch internally bad.

Yes that wire is what originally caused the issue. Wrapping split close to base of connector. I thought I fixed it but I guess not. Thanks for the tip 🤙

All the power for the lights go through the switch, not a great idea. This Hella setup takes the power from the switch.

I have the old switch which still functions but it is missing the dimmer wheel and the actual toggle switch for headlights so later tonite I’m gonna swap them and see if it’s the switch or connector

Default Headlight switch

You could also switch to 7” LED headlights(Jeep?) and decrease the load on the switch. I’d like to know how to install a pair of extra relays to the circuit to prevent any more underdash fires in my 83 944.Dash is out, BTW .😀 TIA

If you buy or build a headlight harness, here's a good set of instructions for installation:
