If his price isn't right, I maybe can do a little better
However getting the decal right, with exactly right curves and dimensions is very hard, with little information available

Or are the plenty of high resolution pics floating around of the decal :P ?

sounds like a plan! I think the decal is flat though, with no real shape. If it was shaped uniquely it would be more of a PITA to install on your fender

How is this different from putting Type R stickers on an Integra GSR?

Micah,
Because there really werent that many 944 Clubsports to begin with (this is the first Stig and I have ever heard of it!), and they weren't really that unique with only differing by a sticker and funky side mirrors. We would kinda be reviving our own 944CS with a new decal on 944s which are properly modified to be like a real CS spec car, much like what Tifo's whole car is aimed towards; what Porsche should have done.

There are thousands of real Integra Type-R's; the 944CS has been many people's unfinished dream.

I understand what you are saying - I really do.

That having been said, your car is not a CS. What Porsche "should have" done is moot - it's not what they did to your vehicle, and therefore making your car appear to be something it is not is one of the things I often see all of us criticizing the "ricers" for doing.

If you want to modify the car internally I completely understand - weight savings, yadda yadda. If you stick a huge, non-OE sticker onto your vehicle, it is, in my mind, the equivalent of putting a stainless-steel wing on the vehicle to draw attention.

Just one more thing - this is the last time I will ever say anything about this topic. What you do to your own car is your own business, and what often gets people in trouble is not following the old rule - "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all."

It's a neat graphic, but it does not belong on a 944 it was never intended for.

Micah, you can have options installed on your car through the dealer without having it installed back in Neckarsulm. A friend of mine had a 944S that had the M031 option installed on his car by the dealer. And yes, you can have "dealer installed" options and not have them listed on the chassis sticker; even the Club Sport option on the 944.

M637 consists of M030, 924 mirrors (OPTIONAL, NOTE OPTIONAL) and the decal just like Tifosi stated. I checked with Pioneer Centres, the local Porsche dealer in Miramar, California and they had installed options on cars before (even on new 996s) that weren't listed on the chassis sticker; this including the Aerokit on the new 996s and Turbo Cup mirrors (924 mirrors) on 951s. BTW, owners of the cup package could choose to delete the 924 style mirrors and go with a standard mirror, which is why I'm choosing to install M637.

I'm going to purchase the decal from the dealer within the next 2months as well as my M030 sways. and voila, my own clubsport!

Andy

How is he wrong if hes doing it the way the factory optioned it as?! Ok, his car isn't an S, give him a break, and he's getting some M030 sways put in, all he'd need to be exactly the same as ANY 944 that came with that M637 would be shocks/springs, right?? lay off a little...

I really like that decal myself and was considering it since my car IS an S, HAS full M030, and some other small mods that in my opinion make it almost worthy of a CS decal. NO, I don't think my car is a race car, it is far from one. But if the guy that ordered my car from Porsche could have checked that option box, which he certainly could have, I think it certainly is worth debating over putting one on.

I think that you saying that Andy is flat out WRONG is pretty harsh. If you don't like it, that's your opinion. But don't say someone is WRONG for wanting to modify their car in a reasonable fashion such as this.

I am nearing the point in my 944ClubSport project where I will be getting it painted soon (this winter)(the only thing left to do will be to begin looking for a 968 3.0 and trans to install someday when I feel my 2.5 begins to tire).

Once it is repainted, I will be installing my rear "clubsport" badge on the back that is the same size and script as the 968 clubsport badge. I don't see where there is anything wrong with that at all. It's no different than the guy in Excellence that did that bad-*** 912R car. Did Porsche ever make a 912R? No. Should they have? Yes. John Dixon at the Taj just made a 356 Delivery Panel Sedan (with a 4 cam Carrera motor). Did Porsche ever make one? No. Is it cool? Yes.

I really hope someone on here razzes me about my decal. I'd be happy to unload both barrells on them.

EDIT:Oops, that sounded a little harsh. If the above commentary offends you, pretend that I inserted a where the is.

Thanks for seeing my view on this Tarheel and Tifosi. From the book that I have, it doesn't say that M637 was specific to the 'S' Which is why I posted this thread. Which means, that any 944 can be upgraded to M637 from the dealer, for the $$$$$. I wonder how much the Clubsport option cost back in the 80's... most likely about as much as sport chassis on a 996

While we're on the subject of what Porsche should have done they should have included manual windows and rear wiper delete in the M637 package.
Manual windows are more reliable, faster to open/close and lighter than electric windows.

Tifo : A 'Club Sport' 944 should not look like a turbo Cup (especially Seb's )

All IMO anyway.

too bad Porsche never made RS-like door panels for 944s with M637 either... that would be cool to have straps on my door to open it

I wonder if Seb realizes he has a near twin? While we are on the subject of Seb, I emailed him a few times lately and it bounced back. Do you know where he sourced that little rear tow-eye that goes under the rear bumper on the right side near the shock support? I need one of those (so my transformation will be complete...muhahahahaha )

Andy, you could make your own RS style panels as well. It's cake. Source yourself a spare set of donor panels and I'll give you the recipe to do it.

The Stig :
On cars with only around 211 hp at best RS-style door panels would have been quite laughable.
Even turbo Cup had the stock door panels by the way
