There's a little round cylinder between the parking-shoes. It holds them apart is the adjuster. There's a little spiked wheel on this cylinder and it shortens or increases the cylinder's length. Looks like someone increased it at one point to make up for the wearing shoes. So just turn the adjuster to shorten the cylinder and you'll be fine.

So are you saying the cable-adjuster is fully tight or fully loose? Pull back on the carpeting behind the parking-brake lever and you'll see the cable. There's a locknut and adjustment nut on the threaded end of the cable. Loosen the locknut and turn the adjuster (yes, 1/3rd turn at a time, thanks Hanz and Franz engineers! ). Tighten the adjuster down the cable to make the lever grab earlier. Loosen the adjuster up the cable to make the lever grab later. Don't forget to tighten the locknut at the very end.

I know that I NEED to replace my cable because it is over streched. Any tips on to do it? I have appt. to take it in, but if I can replace it myself without much problem it would be worth it.
