is there an easy way to quiet down the torsion bar bushings?

Hey;

You could soak the area with penetrant. If you have OE bushings and they are noisy, they are shot.

If they are Delrin, welcome to the club. You can slot the bushing face and install grease fittings to the end caps. They need a shot of grease every now and then to shut them up, mostly after being driven in the rain. They will NEVER stop completely.
