Dude i use any key for my stock alarm. My door key works, my ignition key works, the jeep key might even work. I imagine all that thing needs to do is be turned. Close the car doors and turn the alarm so that the keyhole is horizontal. Then open a door

I didn't have a key for my roll around tool chest and the locksmith cut a key going on the template of what the key should be for that lock and it worked! Ask a locksmith if he has the template for the alarm lock.

If you have no luck, I'll ask the locksmith at work.

So the box attached to the bracket behind the DME is the alarm? What would happen if I disconnect it?

If you just unplug the alarm module the car will not start.

Any decent lock smith should be able to make a key.

well then, i don't know whats up with my alarm, because my module isn't plugged in. i plugged it in, and it didn't seem to be any different.

How do you usually activate the alarm? (and then get it to go off?}

It will start with the alarm module unplugged (at least an 84 N/A will) Your alternator won't charge though. I now have a brand new alternator and a perfectly good spare to show for it......
