71 is usually OK, it really depends on time of day. The weekends are more heavily patrolled and there have been "safety checks" hinted at- no alcohol on your breath would be great.
For right now, I would suggest being close to speed limit- there will be holiday traffic and we don't want to endanger others not participating.
We may consider twisties preferential to carbon evacuation-

Wasting a large volume of fuel in a short period of time will depend heavily on traffic volume and patrol density.

As I get more details I'll report in.

Kenny, the food is covered, (Sat eve cookout burgs and dogs, Sun catered lunch- I plan to sleep thru breakfast) and deserts and munchies are just icing on the cake.
Harry, I'd be honored to have you navigating for me!

Fishey, do me a favor and map out your plan. Either get a good street map and highlight the route or do a play by play. What have you got for photo ops and stopovers? We'll need hand out maps of the cruise so folks can catch up.
There is a play by play for each road and how far distance untill you need to change roads. I will work on makeing a map.... Also there is 2 places we can stop (one is the ceasers creek visitor center and the other is that small store we stoped at the one time you were here in the mini) but given the size of the group I think it will force us to use the visitor center. It is at 18.1miles into the trip (about halfway when we add in the extra road to go farther down 71.)

I will make the final directions and distance tonight for everything.
(28 miles took us about 1 hour to travel) add on the final distance and subtract the speed and you should end up with about a 1 hour run if we extend the cruise down 71

Makeing the 71 run longer is very very very easy for me to do (I change directions on orgonia at one turn (near end) and boom 10 more miles... of 71! So It will be done!

Cory most of the mapping was taken around the idea of (no gravel) but that simply is impossible. I mean sure you can find clean roads (what we did) but if someone infront of you dives low into a corner (no matter what road) there is going to be slight gravel just because thats not a normal car path.
