Default Q&A about brake Master Cylinder made by Fenco

I have the chance to buy a new brake master cylinder that fits the Girling booster in my 944. My current one is leaking profusely and needs to be replaced ASAP. These things aren't cheap, and the cheapest price I was quoted for an ATE, Girling compatible was 175! I have however, found one in Auto Zone that will fit my car but is made by a company called Fenco. It is OEM however and I have heard that they aren't cheesy.

Has anyone tried anything from Fenco before? Heard of them? I'm at a disadvantage here already, seeing that I have a Girling booster on my car....

Fenco is a big name in remanufactured parts on the wholesale market (to auto-parts stores). I'm not aware that they actually make any parts themselves. You most likely have an ATE or Girling unit that has been rebuilt with new seals by Fenco. As long as it works and is up to the quality of the OEM part, you shouldn't have any problems.
