Somehow I managed to crack one of the rear rims on my 1993 Porsche 968.
So, I'm looking to replace it.
Style: 17" Cup 1 alloy (often referred to as 911 C2 Turbo rim)
Size: 9" x 17" offset 55mm
Part number I believe is 965.362.128.00.
Cosmetic condition isn't too critical as long as the rim is straight and round. It also must be Porsche factory original to match the other three, not a replica. So, if anyone has one laying around the garage, shoot me an email with a price.
(I'll be out of town golfing most of the weekend, so I might not be able to get back to you till Monday.)
Thanks,
Jeff

Jeff, depending on how bad the wheel is there are plenty of places that can repair them to new condition for less than 150 dollars. I have seen some pretty crappy looking rims come out stellar. Do you have a pic you can post?

Unfortunately I don't have a camera. I'll try to describe it though. The crack is more like a split in the outer bead/lip area directly adjacent to the tire. Looking at the rim from the back, it runs on the rim's diameter from the tire edge straight toward the center of the rim. It stops right where the lip starts to curve around to the inner surface of the rim. So, the split is less than 1" long and open on the edge less than 1/8". No metal has broken off, and the tire is only slowly loosing air.
When I bought new tires about two years ago, the technician noted that this particular rim, while in good balance, did have a slight wobble, so I'm thinking there was an existing strain in the wheel from some incident a long time ago. I can't recall hitting any potholes particularly hard recently.
I'm sure it could be fixed to look fine, I'm just concerned (maybe irrationally?) that the rim has been weakened too much. With the aweful roads here in Mich., I don't want to end up with problems with it again.

That should be repairable, take it to a shop and ask them, once repaired the wheels I have seen lasted as long as the originals.
FWIW, I have probably had hundreds of wheels repaired in my line of work.
