Rocket Dog Racing sells a kit that bypasses the oil cooler like this and adds an external one.

I used the one out of an S-2. You have to use the S-2 side plate adapter with the filter and run lines down to the front scoop. The S-2 mounts it in the Rt front fender area. I preferred mine in the front lower air scoop. I also fabricated a screen in front of it to keep the rocks out.😀

The S-2 cooler also uses a plastic shroud to duct the air into the cooler. It also protects the cooler.

My observation is the external oil cooler with the bypass adapter could be undersized for ambient temperatures.
This unit is sourced in UK, where the average daily temperature does not exceed 70F

just get a 951 oilfilter housing with 98c thermostat, m22-an10 adaptors and a bmw type oil cooler. super easy and snug.
