Rocket Dog Racing sells a kit that bypasses the oil cooler like this and adds an external one.

Default Oil cooler

I used the one out of an S-2. You have to use the S-2 side plate adapter with the filter and run lines down to the front scoop. The S-2 mounts it in the Rt front fender area. I preferred mine in the front lower air scoop. I also fabricated a screen in front of it to keep the rocks out.😀

Photos of external oil cooler installation on RH side. Oil cooler, hose, and fittings from BAT Inc, Sarasota, FL; inlet air ductwork from ????, do web search on oil cooler inlet ducts.

Default Oil cooler

The S-2 cooler also uses a plastic shroud to duct the air into the cooler. It also protects the cooler.

just get a 951 oilfilter housing with 98c thermostat, m22-an10 adaptors and a bmw type oil cooler. super easy and snug.
