Phone Dial Repainting: How Long Before You Can Remount Them?
My dials are now primed (3 coats) and ready for paint, but it is super-humid out and slatted to thunderstorm all afternoon/evening here. Assuming that I get up at 5:00am tomorrow (should be nice out) to paint them with 4 quick color coats and two clear coats, how long before I can mount them back on the car and drive it? Is tomorrow evening too optimistic?

If you use a fast drying paint (I used a Rust-Olem product a year ago and they still look fine) allow an hour in between coats to fully dry, and overnight to dry completely. (This was at 75 degrees and low humidity)
It really depends on the paint's instructions. If humid- double the drying time at least. respray too early will result in re-stripping the wheels.
I did 3 coats of silver, mounted them the next day and waited a week to wetsand/ polish then clear coat. Paint takes a while to fully cure prior to polishing.
It may be unorthodox- but so far it has worked for me. I hope this helps.
EDIT- I found the original thread..

Last time i hears people talking about htis, wait overnight for them to cure, then remount. Also, dont wash them with anything but water for the next month or so.
Good luck.
Good luck.

24 hours in normal conditions.
If it is above 50% relative humidity, and it's not a moisture-cure type epoxy, then you really start extending the drying time (we won't even begin to get into pigment amounts and how they affect the drying time at this point). With high humidity, I would AT LEAST DOUBLE the amount of time that you give it to cure, if not TRIPLE. Heck, even a week would be better if you don't need to drive on those wheels. Hope that helps!

I did black
I like the black wheels on my red 951. The trim is black and I have a dark tint on the windows so I just carried the theme into the wheels. The picture was taken to show the bike but the black wheels can still be seen

I think that it's hard to go wrong with turbo cup white. I actually gave my wheels an extra coat of matte black primer before I started the silver color coats. I've never seen a set done like this, but they looked terrific! I seriously thought about putting them on the car and snapping some pics. I don't know how they would wear, but on a slate gray car, they look sinister.

I never clearcoated them (Thankful now a year later, although I would recommend doing so to the center caps..) as I was lazy - once I mounted them I didnt take them off for a clearcoat and now re-polishing them is much easier without the clearcoat.
Tires were never dismounted. Deflated and newspaper tucked under the rim/ masking tape around the valvestems. with some patience - you could never tell the tires never came off.. obviously!

Tifo's car.....mmmmmm. Drool Factor 9, Mr. Sulu!
Tastey, dude, even though I voted for black. You know, 44 has always been my fave number, man (I'm Taylor Collier IV, always had some variant of 4 in my MX/bmx numbers). What's up with THAT??
