Default Metal clip at end of rear sunroof drains

Any chance someone knows a part number for the little metal retaining clips at the end of the two rear sunroof drain hoses? There’s one on each side of the car outside the grommets to keep the hoses from getting poked back through into the cubbies. PET doesn’t include them in the diagram or list them. It’s crazy making. They look like this:

Default Retainer

Looks like a tubing retainer. There may have been a tube extension (metal?) that may go into the center hole. Might reside outside the car, after turning it over. HTHsome😀

Judging by the looks of your car, you probably want an OEM replacement. If not, stop by your favourite auto parts store or Home Depot and look/ask for Hillman e clips. It would seem to me that it's a pretty good substitute.

That unique drawer with all the crap you would never look at. Its in there, and you may find a Pcv version, It will work for now.

Thanks guys. Yeah, curtisr guessed right that I was looking for the exact replacement because I like to make life hard for myself.

I haven’t had any success finding an answer, so I ordered the smaller version used on the ebrake cables and will just dremel the little arms out a couple of mm to fit. Generic e clips or poodle clips would work great. These genuine things are VW parts that have been used on shift linkages, ebrake cables, etc. all the way back to at least the 60’s. I couldn’t find any source to show them dimensionally so I could just order the VW part and Porsche didn’t put these in any diagram for any model I could find.

Send that picture to Ian at 944online. He knows everything, especially weird parts like that. He may even have it in stock.

I'm always late to the party but have you reached out to the used part suppliers? I'm sure they can fix you up with some used ones. That won't give you a number but at least it's OEM.

Default Clip

That clip looks like one on the parking brake cables clips near the junction of right and left cables and the little bellows.

Is it not that particular clip? If it is, it's PN 999-166-027-02.

ETA: As @Tiger03447 said, that PN only show up on the 1982-1985 PET for the...drum roll please...hand brake cable. Illustration 701-10. The 1985-1988 and 1989-1991 shows a similar part for that assembly, but has it as N0123281, Lock Washer. The 968 PET goes back to PN 99916602702, Circlip. Weird.

Apologies if I misunderstood.

Cheers

99916602702 and N0123281 are indeed the same part. Unfortunately, it’s one size too small.
