HAHAHA!! priceless!

I can't wait... before changing Lorelei's oil and hand brake shoes and patching a pinhole exhaust leak today, I'm going to have to Mapquest my route for this weekend and double check it with an atlas.. then post.

I can't wait!

Dan: I saw earlier where noone volunteered for fireworks. I'm only 40 min from the KY border. If it makes things easier for you, and I imagine it would, I would volunteer for fireworks. Just let me know.

Heya Bill.. Here is what happened.. Since the date is fast approaching, I did some reasearch. Apparently I can buy the same big fireworks you could get in KY up here in Ohio, I just need to sign a form saying I'm going to take them out of state before igniting them. (of COURSE I will, sir!) SO, I'm no longer in need of an out-of-state transport! Thanks much for the offer.. (I'll go edit the original volunteer post)

See ya Sat!

UPDATES~~
Well, It's crunch time. The weather looks to be 30% chance of rain, Highs in the 80's, lows in the 60's. Perfect camping and howling at the moon weather.

....I assure you even a 70% chance of rain is a hit or miss proposition around here. The terrain here sure does some strange things with weather.. I'm used to looking west and seeing rain approaching for 20 miles or so.

AFAIK, I'll be at casa del Fishey Friday night to help with the preliminary setup, and place some signs at intersections with XSboost, Looks as if the Cinci connection will be heading up to the "not so secret" 944fest location about 11:30 am or so, making for a noonish arrival on Saturday.

I can hardly contain myself. It's so close.. If you dont have plans, make your way to Lebanon. Caravans are about 90% set- see my earlier post in this thread for the links.

I look forward to seeing old friends and making some new ones.

Oh yeah. I'm pumped.. Waterpumped baby!
We had 7 944/924S's cruising around Dayton yesterday, and I'm telling you , a year ago my jaw would have dropped. I guess I'm a little jaded after seeing several dozens of German watercoolers in every color imaginable last year on the 944fest bombing run.

Peace out- I'll catch you all there!

I'm curious whether anyone will have a timing belt retension tool for the "tech" portion of the fest.

I'll bring the Kricket. Last year Scott (sh944) brought the P9201 but he's not coming this year.

Pete, I have the P9201

However feel free to still bring the Kricket if you want to compare them again.

Scott did the comparison last yer when dong belts on Dan's 951. I was amazed on how close the readings were.
The only problem with the Kriket is the tool's size limits where the measurement can be taken.

BTW- Fishey, you have a PM from me.

I'm probably up for a tension check on mine too.

Now that I've completely hijacked this thread, I'll go one step further:
How long does it take to retension the timing belt and how intense is the job itself?

Depends on the expertse of the person doing the job. It takes longer to get the covers off than retensioning for Scott!

It's pretty simple but the fact that there isn't a lot of room in there can slow it down.

Fishey, when did you get the 9201? How much was it?
