Yeah, it's confusing as there are 2 or 3 different "spec 944" series.

From What I hear the domain name for 944-spec.com expired...

The info is still there however and can be found by using

http://www.nasa-az.org/944

The front page is pretty old, but the points (Az points are updated).

My personal site listed in my sig is a little more up to date with a listing of all 50 or so drivers between Az and SoCal. Plus Bill in Northern California.

best place to check out the action is at the NASA forums home.

http://nasaforums.com. Look for the 944-spec forum for all the action.

Yes it is confusing with 944-spec and spec-944. It is long story as to why, but both cars use very similar rules. However '44cup is not affilated with 944-spec or spec-944 and uses a VERY different rule set. It is active on the east cost and 944-spec / spec-944 is active on the west. So active in fact there are 944 spec / spec 944 groups in Az Scca, NASA Az and So Cal and Even Porsche owners club.

Ryan,
Use the nasa.org/944 link above and then click rules. These are the latest uptodate rules. For one on one contact talk to Tim Comeau. He is the so cal director. Best place to find him is on the NASA forums.

To complicate matters even further....
.... It is a GTS Challenge car not a spec car. They run to a another rule set. Car is probably prepped to PCA I stock rules or SCCA ITS rules.

To make it more confusing, 944 Cup (44cup.com) is run in the mid-atlanctic and Florida areas. The various flavors of 944-spec are west coast.

the rules differ fairly significantly as I understand it. Many mods you can do on your 944 Cup car would not be legal in the various 944 spec series. Basically, 944 Cup is for your PCA I/H cars, as well as E and F 944 Turbos and 968s running in the "Super Cup" class. Also, SCCA ITS 944s are also legal providing that they can make the minumum weight.

For all cars, interiors are not required, again assuming that you make the minumum weight.

Matt (944S with 968 motor running 944 Super Cup)
