944 spec / cup dead on west coast?
I've been looking for over an hour and can't find any info on 944 cup in california. I've found a few old post on 944-spec but that website seems down. Is anyone racing 944's anymore in california?

I think the 944 cup was a victim of the Porsche AG lawyers - they can no longer use 944, so they had to change everything to 44-cup. That's probably why those links aren't working anymore.

I sure hope this is not true. First they don't want to go racing. Next they don't want a spec series with one of their cars named for their car. That would be insane.
It would also be further proof that Porsche is no longer the company it once was, now run by MBAs who would just as soon sell appliances.

I'm surprised no SoCal guys have chimed in. The class is certainly growing, and growing rapidly. In fact, there's a race this weekend the 5/6th at Buttonwillow if you want to check it out. I think they're planning on about 10 cars or so, in the class.
The nasa forums link is correct, and the one to tune in for the Nasa info. In addition, the POC in SoCal is in the process of welcoming the 944 spec class, named 944 GSR I believe.
Certainly come join us, as it's a good group. While I've just been doing the time trialing, in another car, up until now, I've got a spec-944 built with just a bit of the shake down process to do through.
Good luck,
Steve

944-spec (not to be confused with spec-944 or 944-cup) is alive and flourishing. There are about 3 dozen cars between Phoenix and SoCal. As Steve said, the group runs w/ NASA and POC. At least 12 cars will be at Buttonwillow w/ NASA this weekend.
