What pressure do you fill the system? I know it's 40.6OZ(1150g) of R12 but what is the pressure amount? Also on the side note R12 isn't that hard to get its cost is pretty expansive but it's not hard to find and get. The 609 certification I believe is good for R134a if it needs one later down there road. When did it I asked the person about it and said it will cover R134a also it covers few other types right now.

The low side reading should be around 30psi for r12. I belive a little higher for r134 max 45psi on low side.

Believe it or not, I do on both cabs. Especially in summer when there are female passengers. Sometimes even with the top down.

But the "workhorse" A/C is the relatively new system I put in the 83. That thing lives in the Caribbean and is turned on all the time, year round.

Kevin, how much does A/C affect fuel mileage? I never run the 83 without having the A/C turned on.

Mine usually drops 2-3 mpg. Not a big deal for me, I drive about 24 miles a day.

Luis,

It just stopped working last month, so I will go to my mechanic and see what they charge. Thanks for the info.

PS Don't I know you from the old Porsche list......
