Nice Job Tifo, but technically you kicked his @$$ since .1 sec ain't that close! I was once beat by .051 for a class win, Z-man has been bested by .006(again, in class) and we've had a couple events where classes have been decided by .001!
And next time I wanna see a FEW waterpumpers beat this dude!

Dave,
I hate to bust yer "water cooled bubble" but Tifo yes had a Great run.. it was fun...but he in NO WAY "KICKED MY A$$"!).. I have a stock 1978 SC with 248 k on the car and tired Suspension.. with 400 tread wear tires all weather tires....
Tifo has a Sweet 944 the BESt i have seen.. I love that car..
but the margin in which I was beat is no *** kicking! when you think about how well set up his car is with all the suspension and race tires he had on it..
So I will not say he didn't beat me.. but HE NO WAY kicked my A$$..
I will borrow some tires for the next event and see who come out on top.
I KNOw it will be the otherway around.... and by a much larger margin!
No disrespect to Jer who is my perhaps my best friend.. but I will beat him in the next one.

Call it what you want, but out here we're pretty competitive and a tenth of a second might as well be a week.
Another example, our May 2 event, one 'lister drove a 46.270, another drove a 46.200 and my best time was a 46.142, that's pretty much the standard gap but sometimes we switch what order we are in. Nobody sits around saying it was close (except when we talk about Z-man letting Phil sneak past him by .006 sec).
My bubble's still intact, good luck at the next one

I didn't say he didn't beat me..... he did and I am happy for him as he had some damn fine runs..
The one thing I am saying that I would simply say he beat me, not kicked my a$$. Given two stock cars.. he would have lost!.
but hey all is cool by me, I had one of the best AutoX's I can remeber going run for run with Jer,,, it was a killer time and I hope he and I can run that close again.
that made it VERy fun!..
I think Jer will agree..... I can't wait for th rest of the year and then to hit the track at the later park of the year.

As long as you're all havin' fun, right?
Looking back over the pictures, I get the feeling that your turn-out isn't the same as I'm used to. I figure the times are probably spread over about 10 sec. from FTD to the slowest at any event regardless of the number of entries. A 40 car field will have an average interval of .25 sec between cars while a 150 car field would average .067 between cars. I guess we just run close together!
And BTW, I hope you don't take me too seriously, NNJ's autox program is a thinly disguised excuse for talking trash, we have as much fun off the course as we have on it! Check the NNJ autox threads sometime if you want to see Z-man, Adrial and myself just beating up on each other but at the end of the day they're good guys and we all have a lot of fun. (guess who's times those were in that previous post )

Yeah Jer and I are great friends.. I'd say the FTD was bout 6 seconds fater than Jer and I and that was posted by a open wheels prototype vehicle with a MAZDA motor.
I have done several auto X's and this one was by far the most fun talking trash and having the times so close.. handing the lead off to one another and having it come down to the last run. it was great!
to bad more Porsches do NOT show up..
seems most Porsche owners these days just like to drive to the store and home.. and have no CLUE! how fun they are to drive hard!
( that was posted to all of you that won't come out to the race )..hhzahahah!

Hey!
For the record, regarding the 0.006 second margin of victory: that was the last time Phil beat me!
Phil does read this board, so if you read this, I'm calling you out, Phil! Hope your finger is healed and that you'll be able to join us on June 12th at PNC Arts Center (Exit 116 on GSP).
Oh, and the last autox, I let Adrial drive my S2. His time: 46.270, my time: 46.200. His style is more aggressive; mine: smoother. My car has no Limited slip, and on our slippery course, smooth won over agressive, but not by much!
Oh, back to our regularly scheduled Cincinatti area autocross trash talk...
-Z-man.
PS: Nice job, Tifo & Eric! Good tight friendly competition amongst friends is what autox is all about!

It would be nice if he joins us again though, I'm sure he'll put in a time somewhere just behind me and ahead of you!
And with this, the NNJ 6-12 event trashtalk begins!

Tifo,
Good work. But taking a stock 911 SC, but nothing like beating a stock 2003 Boxster in 83 944 parts car (both on street tires) by .65 sec.
PCA Az May 15th Ax Street tire times...
(note TTOD = 51.15 = 01 Boxster S, Suspension work and Hoosiers)
56.40 = 83 944 - Stock "Parts Cars"
57.05 = 2003 Boxster - Stock
57.05 = 1997 993 Cab - Stock
57.16 = 2000 Boxster S - Sport Supension & lowered
57.27 = 2003 Mini Cooper S - Stock
57.63 = 1989 944 Turbo - MAF & light Suspension
58.24 = 1978 911 SC - Stock
58.55 = 1992 968 - Stock
... Ahh I could go on...
