Luckily I don't need to drive the car until the weekend and Paragon says I should have it by Friday.
Those bolts only need to be torqued to 7 ft.lbs. These must have been at least 30 or 40!
I just snug them down with an allen wrench and it doesn't leak at all so it must be tight enough. Anti sieze is a good idea on them too.

This is an old thread, but I think it might be the best place to ask which 3 holes use the short valve cover bolts. Rennbay currently sells the short and long bolts for $4 each.

The PET is wrong on the number of each type(long and short) that you need.

Once you start putting them back in it becomes crystal clear where the short ones go. If you put a long one in a short spot, it sticks WAY out. If you try to put a short one in a long spot, it won't even begin to connect with the threads.

I picked up stainless bolts from rennbay.

Why can't I just use a long M6 allen head bolt, with a metal washer above the grommet?
Or, stud the head and use acorn nuts

The factory bolts torque down on the lower face and leave the head at a specific height. I don't know if you can get the height/torque the same with regular allen head bolts.
