I have all the characters. The trash can won't lift up. I did it once before, that's how I know the lighter is there.
I hate these kind of games.

warning: this wont spoil the whole thing but here are some hints.
put the cd and the beer on the shelf then ring the little gong thing
then you should be able to lift the lighter.
you ARE the thing that is on the floor so if you have somehting big in your hand (beer) you cant lift the trash can.
the hint i had was to use the lighter on the hair (several times even after it has burned away)
let me know if that helps.
and also you dont need to know chineese you only ahve to be able to match up the symbols. to do this you will need to look in the pill bottle, rip open the blanket, and do what i said with the hair and the paper the hair was on.
good luck. that shoudl pretty much get you most of the way.
oh and the most important thing. keep your beer CHILLED untill you need it at the very end.
